A Rather Random Poem

Here’s my rather random poem! Hopefully this post will work…–Emma
Rainstorm
It starts with a drip,
a drop,
a single thought of justice—
one cloud in the sky,
one gray spot
overshadowing the fake-blue of a convenient lie.
One person sees it,
another notices,
and before long the sea of blue
is a sea
of
change.
The sky swells like a living thing,
pouring,
spilling,
the beautiful, believable blue invisible
through
the growing rain.
Umbrellas open
in the hands of those
who hide from the storm;
mouths open
and voices cry
from those who begin to understand.
The rain grows
and
drops
and drips;
never-ending,
unstoppable
in its forceful torrent.
The convenient lies
once broadcast
in the sky
are overcome–beaten in battle
by the inconvenience of truth.
And to think
that
all this
started with a drip,
a drop,
and one single thought…
